Me Mudder

I woke up this morning, got my coffee and loaded up Friday's broadcast of The View for lack of anything better to do. Whoopie Goldberg got all choaked up when they mentioned Mother's day and she realized that her mom was no longer with her. Well, no matter how many years go by, that emotion never goes away, especially if you had a mother like mine.

I remembered a poem my mother kept.. either on a piece of paper, in a book - I can't remember. I only remember that it was very old and very cute. Although my dear sister Soozi may be able to recover it somewhere, no need thanks to the marvel of the Internet. I googled a phrase I managed to remember and there it was. So to all of you out there, especially those of you who have lost their moms, on behalf of my mother, may I present, "Me Mudder".

Happy Mother's Day, mom.

Me Mudder
 - author unknown

When me prayers were poorly said
Who tucked me in me widdle bed
And spanked me til me ass was red?
Me Mudder

Who took me from me cozy cot
and put me on an ice cold pot
and made me pee pee if I could not?
Me Mudder

And when the morning light would come
and in me crib me dribble some
who wipe me tiny widdle bum?
Me Mudder

Who would me hair so neatly part
and hug me gently to her heart
and sometimes squeeze me till me fart?
Me Mudder

Who looked at me with eyebrows knit
and nearly had a kingsize fit
when in me Sunday pants me chit?
Me Mudder

When at night the bed did squeek
Me raised me head to have a peek
who yelled at me to go to sleep?
Me Fadder

  1. Nice post Chris! Your mom would have been very pleased with you for finding that poem online and posting about it.
